IEEE-1394 is also known as the Firewire cable. This cable offers high bandwidth interface for the various electronic products of the customer. This technology was invented in the late 80’s. This device was invented to serve the rapidly increasing demand for the increased bandwidth for the videos. Initially, it was designed to reduce the number of cables and connectors which were used between different devices to simplify the whole setup. This technology is actually based on the USB technology which is based on serial bus architecture.
This is basically used to pair the digital cameras with the computers. In the market, there are two types of Firewire setups available. The first type is IEEE 1394.a. the second type is IEEE 1394.b. the only difference between the two is regarding the bandwidth they offer. The first type offers a bandwidth of 480 Mbps whereas the second type offers the bandwidth of around 800 Mbps. This is a great completion for the nearest rival Gigabit Ethernet Gige, which offers 1000 Mbps of bandwidth.
As the name explains this is developed by Gigabit Ethernet communication protocol and is an industrial camera interface. This is also refereed to refer to as GigE. This camera is basically used for industrial purposes. This camera also offers the features such as high speed data transfer. There is also a vast variety for cable lengths. This camera has a lot of applications. Firewire cable will offer the best software interface.
